(Family Friendly) Clay Club: Handbuilding Drop-In

Clay Club is a flexible handbuilding session for anyone who wants to make pottery in a relaxed, beginner-friendly studio environment. Each session is lightly guided, with the option to follow a suggested project or work on your own idea with instructor support.

Please note: Clay Club focuses on handbuilding only. Wheel throwing is not included.

The last 15 minutes of each session is dedicated to cleanup.

Schedule

Clay Club follows a rotating monthly technique schedule. Each month, the first week focuses on pinch pots, the second week on slab building, the third week on coil building, and the fourth week on glazing.

These techniques are offered as guided instruction for anyone who is newer to pottery or wants a bit more structure. You’re still welcome to come in and work on your own project or use a different handbuilding technique during any session — the weekly focus is just there as a starting point for those who want it.

Full Access

Includes approximately 1.5 kg of clay, access to studio tools, instructor guidance, firings, and studio glaze options. More clay can be purchased separately.

After your piece has been bisque fired, usually within 3–4 weeks, you can either return to glaze it during another Clay Club session or choose a studio dipping glaze and have the studio glaze it for you.

Play With Clay

A lower-cost option for anyone who wants to try pottery without keeping the finished piece.

You’ll receive clay to build with during the session, but your piece will be recycled at the end and will not be fired.

Family Session Guidelines

Family Clay Club is for kids and adults to participate together.

• Kids under 13 must be accompanied by a participating adult

• Adults must book a spot and participate; they cannot attend only as spectators

• For kids under 10, we recommend at least 1 participating adult for every 3 children

• All participants must have their own booked spot

Studio Policies

• To cancel this package, you must give at least 72 hours notice, otherwise it will be subject to cancellation fees
• Cracking, warping, glaze flaws, and breakage can happen as part of the ceramic process, and the studio is not responsible for damaged or unsuccessful pieces
• By signing up, you agree that photos or videos of you and your work may be used for promotional purposes while you are in the studio
